Winning a handicap carrying 60 kilos in the manner Gigantografía did is no easy feat, let alone over 1,800 meters. Performing as she did in her early days, when she sparked the highest expectations, the Rubio B. mare delivered a high-flying performance this Friday at the Hipódromo Argentino de Palermo to claim the Elías Antúnez, a tribute to the unforgettable Yacaré, one of the emblematic jockeys in the history of national turf.

The daughter of Bodemeister prevailed from pillar to post, running strongly throughout and finishing with flair to round out what was perhaps the best effort of her brief but effective campaign.

As night fell, William Pereyra was able to manage the pace to his liking aboard the bay, setting initial fractions of 26s18/100 and 50s6/100, always with It's My Look (Equal Stripes, 60) tracking her closely.

The home turn arrived, bringing out the best in Gigantografía, who didn't take long to open up daylight over her pursuer and main rival. From the final 200 meters to the wire, she coasted home, crossing the finish line with her rider motionless, seeking to conserve energy.

In the end, it was a 5-length margin for the winner over It's My Look, with Existing (Winning Prize, 55 1/2) completing the trifecta and the rest of the field arriving in single file. The final time for the race was 1m50s93/100 on a track that remains demanding.

Trained by Juan C. Etchechoury (h.) and born at Haras La Pasión, Gigantografía now boasts 6 victories in 9 starts, bringing her earnings to approximately 33,815,000 pesos. The bay is the penultimate foal of the incredibly prolific Giant's Blondway (Giant's Causeway), who also produced Giant Killing (Hat Trick), winner of the Gran Premio Dardo Rocha (G1), and Hualcara (Exchange Rate), a multiple graded stakes winner in Peru.

Gigantografía won spectacularly, and the Gran Premio Criadores (G1) on May 1st will surely be a temptation for her connections.
