The first of the three brief programs scheduled for this week will arrive on Friday at the Hipódromo Argentino de Palermo, featuring intermediate-level races and the peak of attention falling on the Handicap Elías Antúnez, remembering a legendary jockey.

El Yacaré, as he was nicknamed, stood out in a golden era, competing alongside other giants such as Irineo Leguisamo, Máximo Acosta, or Juan P. Artigas, and rode symbolic horses like Bubalcó (Tresiete), Sorteado (Tresiete), and Swing(Foxhunter), among many others.

Scheduled over 1,800 meters on the dirt, for winning mares 4 years old and up, the handicap has two names that clearly stand out within the roster of 7 confirmed runners: Gigantografía (Bodemeister) and It's My Look (Equal Stripes), who will share the top weight of 60 kilos.

The former, from Stud Rubio B., comes off a return to victory in great form. It was just under a month ago, in the Handicap Tatán, under the same circumstances she will face now, although with 3 kilos less. It took nothing for her to defeat Gneisenau (Winning Prize) by 5 lengths as the heavy favorite.

Gigantografía will have a very dangerous rival in It's My Look, highly regarded since her filly days and a year younger than the former. Prepared by Gustavo Scarpello, the bay from Stud Los Betos has not competed for 53 days, an occasion in which she took the Handicap Blue Stripe with complete dominance over 2,000 meters, winning by 5 lengths over Risible (Orpen) with 57 kilos.

Appearing as the third in contention is Increpante (Sigfrid, 54), the only stakes winner in the group —having won the Orbit (L)— who was also second in the Carlos Tomkinson (G2) and third in the Los Criadores (G2), and surprisingly carries a light weight. She hasn't run since February, after finishing fifth in the aforementioned Handicap Blue Stripe, though she did not show her true level that day.

As for a bigger upset, Contrast (Safety Check, 51 1/2) carries a featherweight and returns to the dirt, where she won easily not long ago...
