The son of Remote took a major step forward and defeated Ridge Prince in the Handicap Haras Dilú (1200 meters)

LA PLATA.- Trainer Omar Labanca and jockey Lautaro Balmaceda continue their remarkable run of major victories at this track. With the echoes of their notable success aboard Storm Sound (Hi Happy) in the G2 Joaquín V. González still fresh, they were back in the winner’s circle on Tuesday thanks to Glorioso Rim (54kgs).
In a sharp performance, the son of Remote delivered the best effort of his career to land the Handicap Haras Dilú(1200m, fast dirt), the highlight of a long afternoon’s card. Racing for Stud Los Nonos of Neuquén, the bay had been knocking on the door in a pair of condition races, though without really impacting the finish.
Settled off early, he allowed Ridge Prince (Strategic Prince, 57) to dictate the pace before beginning his wide advance on the turn. Swinging into the stretch with clear running, Glorioso Rim collared the leader passing the 300-metre mark and gradually edged away to score by 1/2-length. Heavy favorite Payucano (Mask, 59) completed the trifecta a further 2 1/2 lengths back, never posing a real threat. The final time was a sharp 1:10.74.
Bred by Haras Firmamento, Glorioso Rim now boasts a record of four wins from 12 starts and has pushed his earnings beyond ARS 20 million at the age of four.
A half-brother to the G3-placed Mr. Glory (Bodemeister), he is out of Holiday Glory (Honour and Glory), herself a black-type performer and a granddaughter of Enjoy (Emarati), a mare imported to Argentina by Juan Carlos Bagó in the late 1990s and responsible for a very productive family.
This victory marked Glorioso Rim’s first success at the better level, after having failed to deliver in his only previous attempt in this company. Though the weights certainly helped, the improvement was clear — and it would be no surprise to see him making further noise at this level in the near future.
