The Stud Pauli filly captured the Clásico Amilcar A. Mercader (L), defeating Grosella by a length and shining a spotlight on her sire

LA PLATA.— It was far from easy for Gota Clara Sos to justify her heavy favoritism in the Clásico Amilcar A. Mercader (L-1000m, normal dirt) and establish herself as the early leader of the juvenile filly division at this track.
This Thursday, the chestnut maintained her undefeated record in a victory that required hard work from the jump, continuing an impressive winning streak for the Stud Pauli stable, trainer Marcelo Sueldo, and jockey Gonzalo Borda, this time in partnership with Haras Gran Muñeca, where the filly was bred.
The challenges began at the start, where she broke awkwardly and was left in a mid-pack position. Meanwhile, Grosella (Seahenge) set the pace followed by Salema (Il Mercato) and Amiguita Casual (Todo Un Amiguito), through an initial quarter-mile of :23.73.
As they straightened for home, the leader attempted to kick clear, but Borda quickly guided Gota Clara Sos to the outside. She began to make up ground, though her stride lacked polish as she lugged in slightly—typical signs of greenness.
In the final furlong, the winner took command to cross the wire with a 1-length advantage over Grosella, who performed admirably despite still being a maiden. Just a half-neck back, Salema completed the trifecta, securing a 1-3 finish for Sueldo. The final time for the race was a solid :59.55, with a split of :46.90 for the 800-meter mark.
Gota Clara Sos had won the Especial Apertura on debut and has now kept her record immaculate, with an eye toward future steps that will test her ability over longer distances.
Her dam, Gota Clara Key (Key Deputy), won the Clásico Antártida Argentina (L) and carries the maternal line of El Alfalfar as backing—the family of Sugary (World Cup).
Gota Clara Sos provided Made You Look (More Than Ready)—a stallion currently leading the first-crop sire standings—with his first stakes victory, confirming his ability to produce precocious and high-quality runners.
