The daughter of Made You Look debuted with a comfortable win in the Especial Apertura and aims to remain undefeated; four of the seven entrants are still maidens

LA PLATA.— The Clásico Amilcar A. Mercader (L-1000m, dirt) will open the selection process for 2-year-old fillies this afternoon at this city's racetrack, featuring the significant fact that four of the seven confirmed runners are still maidens.
This reference is particularly relevant given that last Sunday at Palermo, Embozada Rim (Remote) relished the chance to break her maiden while capturing the Clásico Carlos Casares (G3).
However, it seems unlikely that the top choices will falter now, especially in the case of Gota Clara Sos (Made You Look), backed by the unstoppable team of Stud Pauli, Marcelo Sueldo, and Gonzalo Borda.
The chestnut's first outing was highly promising, opening her campaign with a 6-length victory in the Especial Apertura, defeating Gran Gotera (Made You Look), who subsequently won by 5 lengths.
They say there is no worse wedge than one from the same wood, and for Gota Clara Sos, the main threat will come from her own stable with the undefeated Salema (Il Mercato), also under the preparation of Sueldo, the leading trainer in the local standings.
The filly from Stud Zeus holds a unique record: she finished second in her Buenos Aires debut behind Venus Win (Gershwin) but inherited the win following the latter's disqualification. In the interim, she ran at "El Bosque" and prevailed by 2 lengths; however, since the disqualification had not yet been officially confirmed at that time, she now carries two wins achieved while technically still in the maiden ranks.
The only other entrant with a win to her credit is Ojitos Tristes (Mootasadir), who followed up a positive fourth-place debut by winning in her second start, besting the aforementioned Gran Gotera.
With solid performances at San Isidro and Palermo, Grosella (Seahenge) enters after finishing fourth in the previously mentioned Carlos Casares, while Amiguita Casual (Todo Un Amiguito) and Marquise Zenda (Il Mercato) will also seek the feat of securing their first photo-finish at the stakes level.
