After springing the upset at Palermo, she now led home a 1-2 for sire Made You Look, defeating Gota Clara Sos by one length

What Gran Gotera is doing is serious—very serious.
On May 1, over the Palermo dirt, she burst onto the scene with an upset victory in the Gran Premio Jorge de Atucha (G1). Now she did nothing but confirm that performance by capturing the Gran Premio de Potrancas (G1-1600m, firm turf) and establishing herself as the unquestioned leader among the 2-year-old fillies during a magnificent afternoon of racing.
Handling the turf course at Hipódromo de San Isidro proved no obstacle at all for the bay filly representing Stud Tinta Roja, who looked completely at home while once again displaying both courage and finishing power, leading home a 1-2 for freshman sire Made You Look (More Than Ready) by handing favorite Gota Clara Sos her first defeat, scoring by one length.
With Martín Valle once again aboard, the filly trained by Carlos and Martín Domingo did not need to force the pace, although she naturally found herself forwardly placed after the break.
As the race developed, Unica Forma (Full Mast), stablemate to Gota Clara Sos, moved into the lead, though never by much over the eventual winner.
Valle wisely avoided engaging in an early battle, and that proved the first of several excellent decisions.
Turning for home, with Unica Forma already appearing vulnerable, the jockey waited patiently for the real threats to emerge. Only once Gota Clara Sos came charging through along the rail did Valle fully ask Gran Gotera for her effort.
The response could not have been better.
The filly dug in bravely against the challenge and even appeared to grow stronger late, edging away slightly through the final stages. At the wire, she held a one-length advantage over Gota Clara Sos, while the fast-closing Gunakali (King Guillermo) rallied for third another length back, finishing a neck ahead of Live Your Life (Dabster), who once again failed to fully deliver.
The final time was 1:35.90 over a turf course lacking much elasticity.
One important detail: Gran Gotera is not nominated to the Carreras de las Estrellas, and unless a supplemental fee is paid, she will be unable to contest the Juvenile Fillies (G1)—a race in which Gota Clara Sos remains eligible to participate.
