Gran Premio Enrique Acebal: Look At To Me leads a high-caliber field of 14 fillies with grand aspirations

The Gran Premio Polla de Potrancas (G1) heroine stands out among the confirmed runners for Saturday’s top-flight feature at San Isidro. Deep Feeling, Siesta, Gunakali, and Risk Free add compelling claims to an intriguing 2,000-meter contest that will distribute $100 million ARS in total prize money

With 14 3-year-old fillies confirmed, the Gran Premio Enrique Acebal (G1-2000m, turf), one of the marquee attractions on Saturday, November 7 at San Isidro, is locked and loaded. While the final field dropped slightly from the original 16 nominees, the competitive quality remains firmly intact, led by Grade 1 winner Look At To Me (Dabster),alongside proven stakes performers and emerging talent making a rapid rise.
The Al Adiyaat homebred undeniably boasts the most formidable credentials. She scored a resounding 4-length victory in the Gran Premio Polla de Potrancas (G1) at Palermo before being edged out by just a neck by Róbate un Beso(Uncle Chuck) in the Gran Premio Selección (G1) following an unforgettable stretch battle. Conditioned by Juan Franco Saldivia, she will once again have William Pereyra in the saddle as she looks to translate the elite authority she displayed on dirt over to the San Isidro turf.
A major threat looms in Deep Feeling (Seahenge), who steps up following a brilliant performance to capture the Clásico Carlos P. Rodríguez (G2) over the turf mile, facing and defeating older mares. Racing in the colors of Color Tango, she boasts three victories and will now test her stamina over 2,000 meters with Urbano Chaves confirmed to ride.
Siesta (Cityscape) also possesses the credentials to stake her claim at the top. A two-time graded stakes winner at La Plata, she finished runner-up in that venue's Selección (G1) and brings valuable seasoning to the field. Trainer Marcelo Sueldo saddles her alongside jockey Gonzalo Borda, hoping her transition to the grass will be seamless enough to keep her in the thick of the fight.
Gunakali (King Guillermo) presents another intriguing option. Following several placed efforts in stakes company—including a runner-up finish behind Keratea (Hi Happy) in the Clásico Francisco J. Beazley (G2)—she broke her maiden in crushing fashion over the exact 2,000-meter turf course at San Isidro. The La Providencia representative, trained by Carlos Daniel Etchechoury, will be guided by Martín Valle.
The recent Clásico Federico de Alvear (G2) provides additional key form lines. Risk Free (Brz-Outstrip) finished runner-up to Fuurin by just half a neck; Oasis Moon (Dabster) finished third a further 2 1/2 lengths back; and Ruby Rose (Il Campione) was sixth after setting the early tempo. All three return for a rematch, though the winner of that key prep was not among the final acceptances.
La Santa Cándida, third in the Polla, along with remaining hopefuls Aspen Beach (Treasure Beach), Coni Chic(Marconi), Flor del Valle (Gouverneur Morris), Justa Promesa (Fortify), Korean Girl (Fortify), and Saleia(Lizard Island), round out a lineup filled with varied backgrounds and vast upside. All contenders will carry 56 kilograms.
The classic feature will distribute a total purse of $100 million ARS, with $50 million ARS set aside for the winner, sharing top billing with the Gran Premio Copa de Oro (G1) on the critical pathway toward the Gran Premio Carlos Pellegrini (G1). Look At To Me sets a remarkably high bar, but her rivals offer plenty of ammunition to guarantee a fiercely competitive Enrique Acebal with major divisional titles on the line.
