LA PLATA.- A highly entertaining Thursday card awaits at La Plata, kicking off with the Especial Bolivia, a 1200-meter test for fillies and mares aged four and up under set weights. With a purse of $5,855,000, the feature surpasses even Wednesday’s handicap at San Isidro by nearly 20%—and stands taller, prize-wise, than the G3 Polla de Potrillos itself.

With only six runners confirmed, this is a case of quality over quantity, and Gurisa Mask (Mask) finds herself with a golden opportunity to return to the winner’s circle. Representing Stud Tinta Roja and to be ridden by Daniel E. Arias, she comes off a pair of solid third-place finishes in the Clásicos Diego M. Argüello and Caballerizas Argentinas, having also been a strong runner-up in the G3 Arturo A. Bullrich.

What a Glory (Safety Check) arrives off an eye-catching late-running performance and will once again hope for a favorable race shape to launch her closing kick.

High Rimout (Remote) was third in the Especial Curtida Nistel a couple of weeks ago and brings consistency at this level, notably having finished ahead of Gurisa Mask in the aforementioned Argüello.

A notch below appear Curiosa Hit (Hit It a Bomb) and Tac-Tac (Manipulator), the latter a past stakes winner who’s struggled with consistency of late. Ventaja Clara (Sardinero), meanwhile, will need to improve significantly to avoid bringing up the rear.
