Haras Pozo de Luna’s 2023 Product Sale Set for Thursday, Online

The farm will offer a select group of yearlings through the (Arg) Sales online platform

The auction season shows no signs of slowing down, with Haras Pozo de Luna’s 2023 Gran Venta de Productos set for this Thursday. Organized by (Arg) Sales and held entirely online, pre-bidding is already underway, offering buyers the chance to secure the usual discounts.

A total of 17 yearlings will pass through the virtual auction block, although the absence of Blue Corner (Daddy Long Legs–Blues for Sale, by Not for Sale) is notable. Blue Corner is the full sibling to champions Blue Prize (Pure Prize) and Blue Stripe (Equal Stripes).

Despite this significant withdrawal, the catalog remains impressive. In recent sales, José Cerrillo’s farm has offered top runners like Cuan Chef (Daddy Long Legs), Acento Final (Treasure Beach), and Vundu (Suggestive Boy), winners of the previous season’s most prestigious races—the Nacional (G1), Jockey Club (G1), and Estrellas Classic (G1), respectively—just to name a few.

One of the standout prospects is Idahué (Daddy Long Legs), out of champion Infiltrada (Footstepsinthesand) and maternal brother to Irideo (Easing Along), a champion miler who scored his top victory in the Gran Premio Joaquín S. de Anchorena (G1).

Leading the pre-bidding is Nilahué, another colt, by Fortify out of Nasa Oro (Orpen), who is a maternal sister to G3 Joy Nima (by Fortify) and both daughters of G1 Stormy Ninguna (Bernstein). This pedigree is backed by a strong family that includes graded winners like Niño Guapo (Catcher In the Rye), Joy Nikita (Fortify), and Nastia (Fortify).

The sale also features several first-crop offspring from mares with notable race records. For example, Salto En Laja(Daddy Long Legs) is out of Subyugante (Manipulator); Valle Nevado (Daddy Long Legs) is from the G2 Verde Pipian(Treasure Beach); San Fernando (Suggestive Boy) hails from G2 Schilleriana (Roman Ruler); and Hanga Roa (Daddy Long Legs) is out of G1-placed Hellas Verona (Interaction).

Other notable prospects include Diguillín (Treasure Beach), maternal brother to Dzik (Portal del Alto), winner of the Clásico Old Man (G3); Osca (Suggestive Boy), offspring of multiple handicap winner Oppidum (Portal del Alto); and San Gregorio (Suggestive Boy), out of G1 She's Happy (Speightstown) and full brother to the stakes winner Sin Temor.
