Weighing just 436 kilos, the daughter of Full Mast scored decisively in the Snow Cat and confirmed there's nothing accidental about her talent

LA PLATA.- In the walking ring, Jin Jin doesn’t exactly turn heads. On the contrary, her modest frame—around 436 kilos—makes her easy to overlook. But once she steps onto the track, her heart takes over, and that inner fire continues to carry her to meaningful victories, like Tuesday’s in the Clásico Snow Cat, one of two stakes-quality races featured on the card.
One of the standout fillies of her generation at both two and three, with wins in the G2 Polla de Potrancas and G3 Derli A. Gómez, she found the winner’s circle again in her third start off the layoff, signaling that from now on, it will take a serious effort to beat her.
She showed blistering speed over 1200 meters to take the Gómez, then mixed that quickness with a touch of stamina to shine in the mile of the first leg of the Triple Crown. This time, she dazzled over 2100 meters—a new distance for her—proving it was well within her reach.
With Miguel O. Sosa in the irons, the daughter of Full Mast tracked the pacesetter Shericka (Seize) with ease, loomed up on the far turn, took over before the straight, and built an unassailable lead in the final furlong. Flavie (Seahenge) tried to close but had to settle for second, seven lengths adrift, once again falling just short of a breakthrough black-type score.
Five lengths back, Sweet Icy (Vástago Salvaje) ran a surprising third, while Shericka, spent from her early efforts, faded to finish sixth and well beaten. Final time for the race was 2:13.16, with sectionals of :25.25, :50.96, 1:16.84, 1:41.50, and 2:07.56.
Bred by Haras La Providencia, campaigned by Stud Nuevos Vientos of Bonifacio and trained by Angel Piana, Jin Jin is out of the durable Jinzhou (Include), who finished third in the Estrellas Juvenile Fillies (G1) and hails from a deep family that includes the beloved Vale Más (Good Bloke), champion Jumbalaya (Pure Prize), and G1 winners Oh Take(Latin American) and Pellegrini (Nugget Point).
