Daughter of Señor Candy Targets Handicap Petite Ecurie at San Isidro

After the grand Thursday celebration at Palermo, racing will take a sharp downturn for a rather lackluster Friday card at San Isidro, with 11 races featuring a few confirmed entries and a mix of veteran horses and alternative categories.
The main event will be the Handicap Petite Ecurie, set over 1200 meters on the auxiliary sand track for mares aged 5 and up, where the level of competition is not expected to be particularly stellar...
This race presents a unique opportunity for Hello Candy (Señor Candy, 57 1/2) to bounce back after underperforming in the Handicap Jardy, where she finished a distant sixth behind Fantastic Woman (In the Dark), a filly she had previously defeated when winning the Handicap Guatán.
Standing in her way is Candy Gloriosa (Vástago Salvaje, 54), who just seven days ago finished second, 1 1/2 lengths behind Lady Proud (Security Risk) in a local allowance race and is currently in good form, now facing a more favorable field.
In the aforementioned Handicap Jardy, Alta Key (Portal del Alto, 54 1/2) finished fifth, just ahead of Hello Candy, a result that clearly places her among the top contenders, especially since she will receive a 3-kilo weight allowance from that rival.
Finally, attention should also be given to Caoimhe (Cosmic Trigger, 52), who has failed to impress in her two outings above the allowance level but had previously performed well enough to reach higher competition. Of course, at 6 years old, she may be at a disadvantage, but with no particularly demanding opponents ahead of her, she could still make an impact.
