Herroz Subastas to Host Online Gran Venta Otoño This Friday

Starting at 3 p.m., a catalog of 25 yearlings from the 2023 crop will be offered, featuring consignments from leading breeding farms and offspring by prominent stallions

The ongoing yearling sales season in Argentina makes its next stop this Friday with the Gran Venta Otoño, organized by Herroz Subastas, to be held entirely online. The auction is set to begin at 3 p.m., and buyers will have the option of paying in up to 10 installments.

A total of 25 colts and fillies from the 2023 crop will go through the virtual ring, with consignments from many of the country’s prominent breeding farms, including Haras Cortines, Don Yayo, Embrujo, Vikeda, La Numancia, La Tutina, Mamina, Principal, Rodeo Chico, San Francisco Chico, and María Alicia.

Among the sires represented are an eclectic and appealing group, led by Hit It a Bomb (War Front)Manipulator (Unbridled)Remote (Dansili)Angiolo (Grand Reward)Seahenge (Scat Daddy)Safety Check (Dubawi)Lucullan (Hard Spun)Claro Oscuro (Mutakddim)Suggestive Boy (Easing Along)Gershwin (Distorted Humor)Emotion Orpen (Orpen)Imperador (Treasure Beach)Humor Ácido (Emperor Richard)Mootasadir (Dansili)Le Ken (Easing Along)Valid Stripes (Equal Stripes)Victor Security (Stormy Atlantic)Springdom (Sebi Halo)Nicholas (Equal Stripes), and Nashville Texan (Forestry).

Several offerings stand out in the catalog. Nakata (Remote) is the first foal out of Nimia Rye (Catcher In the Rye), who finished second in the 3000-meter G2 Clásico General Pueyrredón and hails from the same family as Nipona (Babas Fables).

Inalcanzable Check (Safety Check—Sister Ridge, by Cactus Ridge) is a half-brother to the stakes winner Turista (Valid Stripes), while Claro Intento (Claro Oscuro—Zambomba, by Indygo Shiner) is a half-sister to stakes winner Stay Shining (Stay Thirsty).

Also cataloged is Imperial Golden, from the first crop of G1 winner Imperador (Treasure Beach) and a half-brother to stakes-placed Easy Dream (Unbridle’s Dream). Another notable offering is Kalero Hit (Hit It a Bomb—Curiosa Craf, by Mastercraftsman), whose dam is a half-sister to G3 winner Curitiba Nistel (Van Nistelrooy) and part of the influential family of Mucura (Hot Dust), one of the foundation mares at Haras Firmamento.
