Hi Intense, fourth in the Polla de Potrancas, sold to the United States

Winner of the Clásico Bayakoa, she was acquired by Haymarket Farm LLC, with Ignacio Correas Jr. and Carlos Cambas acting as agents

The international market remains active, fortunately, for Argentine horses. The sale of La Providencia’s filly Hi Intense has now been confirmed, and she will continue her racing career in the United States.
The daughter of Hi Happy was acquired by Haymarket Farm LLC, with Ignacio Correas Jr. and Carlos Cambasacting as agents. She will travel in the coming weeks to her new destination, where, after a customary quarantine period, she will enter the stable of trainer Horacio De Paz.
The dark bay ran just five times in Argentina, launching her campaign with a victory on debut over 1,400 meters on the turf at Hipódromo de San Isidro, defeating the high-performing Fly Cast (Made You Look). She immediately stepped up to top-level company, but fell short of expectations when finishing well behind Gran Gotera (Made You Look) in the Gran Premio de Potrancas (G1).
However, her form quickly rebounded. She improved to finish fourth behind Unica Forma (Full Mast) in the Gran Premio Carreras de las Estrellas Juvenile Fillies (G1) before achieving her standout victory in the Clásico Bayakoa(L)—again over the San Isidro lawn—where she outgunned Ruby Rose (Il Campione) and G2 winner Gota Clara Sos (Made You Look).
In her final appearance on local soil, Hi Intense switched to the dirt at Palermo for the Gran Premio Polla de Potrancas (G1), putting in a solid performance to finish fourth, 7 3/4 lengths behind Look At To Me (Dabster), while finishing ahead of graded stakes winner Candy Unica (Señor Candy) and the aforementioned Gran Gotera.
Hi Intense is also an intriguing prospect from a genetic standpoint with an eye toward her future breeding career. Out of Intuicao Direta (Roi Normand), she is a half-sister to the outstanding Off the Road (Quick Road), winner in Brazil of the Grande Prêmio Immensity (G1) and the Grande Prêmio Barão de Piracicaba (G1); as well as On the Road (Quick Road), winner of the Gran Premio Dos Mil Guineas (G1) at San Isidro.
Her granddam, Eleição Direta (Choctaw Ridge), was a brilliant sprinter in Brazil, winning the Grande Prêmio Copa ABCPCC Velocidade (G3) twice and the Grande Prêmio Edmundo Pires de Oliveira Dias (G3), stemming from one of the foundation families of Haras La Quebrada.
With Hi Intense, the Argentine contingent in the United States will soon gain another promising runner, representing another key export for the 2023 foal crop following the confirmed departures to Dubai, United Arab Emirates, of G1 winner Colorado del Monte (Strategos) and G3 winner Hand In Hand (Il Campione).
