Like Humarada Lírica, Humorada Negra, and Humor Ácido, the son of Hail to Humor has already earned his boldface status in the catalogs

For a son of the outstanding Hail to Humor (Distorted Humor), failing to win a stakes race would almost be an offense at this point. Humor Ácido (Emperor Richard), Humarada Negra (Emperor Richard), and Humarada Lírica (Sidney's Candy) had already done it, and now Hiran has joined the club. The son of champion sprinter Santillano (Easing Along) is one of the last foals out of the now-deceased broodmare imported by Haras La Pasión.
A three-time winner from just four starts, the Stud Inclusión runner stepped up for his stakes debut in the Clásico General Viamonte (G3, 1000m, turf)—Friday’s feature at San Isidro—and delivered in thrilling fashion, digging deep to outduel the seasoned Filoso Class (Filoso Emperor) by a nose. Heavy favorite Fox Embrujado (Storm Embrujado) burned a mountain of tickets, finishing a disappointing fourth in a field of five.
The race turned into a two-horse battle from the break, with Hiran taking the early lead. At the 300-meter mark, Filoso Class briefly gained command and looked poised to pull off the victory. But under a powerful ride by Kevin Banegas, the chestnut colt showed grit in the final strides, surging just in time to land the win.
Two lengths back, Barbacoa Key (Key Deputy) added another graded placing to her résumé, while Fox Embrujado checked in five lengths behind the winner, barely holding off longshot Alto Heredero (Compasivo Cat), who faded to last. The final time was a solid 55.68 seconds.
Trained by Fabián David—who is still facing an unfair suspension—and saddled by Nahuel David, Hiran upheld the legacy of a bloodline rooted in the U.S. but recognized in Argentina for producing top-tier sprinters.
Hail to Humor is also the granddam of another talented speedster, Humor Sabatino (Sabayon), and will likely continue to make her presence felt in the division. While Humarada Lírica and Humarada Negra have since been exported, it was Hiran’s turn to shine—just a family matter, as they say.
