The son of Hit It a Bomb led all the way to capture the Especial Día del Veterinario on the muddy track at Hipódromo de La Plata
LA PLATA.— Step by step, Hit It a Bou is returning to the form he flashed early in his career following a brief slump. Now under the care of Aldo Díaz, the colt is regaining his winning rhythm, and this Thursday he provided his clearest signal yet.
Delivering a dominant wire-to-wire performance, he captured the Handicap Día del Veterinario, the main support feature to the Clásico Polla de Potrillos (G3) on the Hipódromo de La Plata card, contested over 1,200 meters on a muddy track.
With the experienced Walter Aguirre in the irons and toting a moderate 55 kilos, the son of Hit It a Bomb faced early pressure from his rivals through the opening stages. However, once turning into the home stretch, his superiority became undeniable.
Quickly opening up daylight, he drew away effortlessly to cross the wire 5 lengths clear of Redentor Scat (Knockout, 54 kg), who added another solid performance to his strong current form. Another 2 lengths back, Equal Romano (Equal Legítimo) completed the trifecta, well ahead of top-weighted Colour Vision (Univisión, 60 1/2 kg), who finished a disappointing sixth in the seven-horse field, beaten more than 13 lengths.
Raced by Stud Mis 4 Soles and bred by Haras Firmamento, Hit It a Bou stopped the clock in an impressive 1m12s68/100 to secure his fourth and most significant victory in 10 starts, firmly solidifying his career turnaround.
