After a long layoff, he displayed his class by winning the Handicap Aniversario de la Inauguración del Hipódromo Argentino at Palermo

The layoff of over a year with which he arrived at the Handicap Aniversario de la Inauguración del Hipódromo Argentino (1200 m) was not a problem; neither was the heavy state of the track, nor the tough rivals he had to face. Hit Rouge appealed to all his quality to take a valuable victory, reinsert himself into the circuit, and dream once again of reaching the stakes races, in which he was a protagonist before heading to winter quarters due to a physical issue.
The son of Hit It a Bomb has talent to spare, and he made it clear once again. Carrying 58 1/2 kilos and with César Romagnoli chosen to ride him, he was a protagonist at all times.
During the early stages, he was one of those responsible for putting pressure on the leader Atrevido Electric (Electricity, 59 1/2), who moved under demanding fractions of 24s19/100 and 47s9/100.
Later, in the straight, once he had dominated the leader, he had almost no rest and had to fight to contain the closing charge of Oro Azteca (Empire Aztec, 55), who, for a good while, looked like he was going to take the victory.
However, when it came time to show grit, Hit Rouge did not shrink; he put heart and determination into holding off his rival, finally defeating him by just a head in a time of 1m11s86/100, which was more than acceptable given the track conditions.
At 1 1/2 lengths, Approval Cat (Endorsement, 56 1/2) secured a meritorious third place, ahead of Mario's Rim(Remote, 54), who completed the superfecta. The favorite Príncipe Soñado (Fragotero, 59) performed poorly, finishing seventh more than 7 lengths behind the winner.
Owned by Stud Los Raro, bred by Haras Firmamento, and trained by Jorge Congestre, Hit Rouge celebrated for the fifth time in just 9 starts, and for the third time at the stakes level, having previously won the Clásico Intendente Melchor Posse (L) and Clásico Lord At War (L), not forgetting his second in the Clásico Asociación Argentina de Fomento Equino (L).
Out of Vedette's Day (Harlan's Holiday), she being by the great Vedette's Parade (Parade Marshal)—mother of 5 stakes winners, including the G1 winner Maipo Royale (Val Royal)—Hit Rouge is back, and one can expect nothing but the best.
