Connections of the brilliant sprinter have confirmed that the upcoming renewal of the mega-rich event this October at Randwick Racecourse in Sydney, Australia, has been firmly established as the next primary objective on the global superstar's calendar

SHA TIN, Hong Kong—Following a flawless campaign that cemented his status as the world's premier sprinter, Ka Ying Rising (NZ) (Shamexpress {NZ}—Peridot {NZ}, by Green Perfume) has officially launched his roadmap toward his next major objective. The extraordinary David Hayes trainee has commenced preparations to defend his crown in the G1 The Everest, the planet's richest turf sprint, slated for October at Randwick in Australia.

The gelding is currently riding an extraordinary wave of form. He boasts a staggering 20-race win streak, with 19 of those victories accomplished over the local Sha Tin strip, where he has evolved into a bona fide public idol for Hong Kong racegoers.

However, it was his lone overseas venture that truly validated his international stature. In the most recent renewal of The Everest, he shipped down to Sydney and dominanty dismantled a star-studded field featuring many of the world's elite sprinters. Winning with absolute authority, he left no room for debate as to who currently sits atop the global sprint rankings.

Connections are mapping out a near-identical itinerary to last season's successful blueprint. Ka Ying Rising is scheduled to reappear on Hong Kong’s opening day in September before once again boarding a flight to Australia in pursuit of back-to-back victories.

"He's in great shape. At the moment, he's just doing strong gallops," Hayes remarked regarding his stable star.

The Hall of Fame conditioner explained that the horse will begin to pick up the tempo in the coming days. "At the end of this week, he will start three-quarter pacing and, bit by bit, we will build the preparation toward The Everest. It's virtually a copy-and-paste job: he'll run first at Sha Tin and then travel to Australia."

Hayes also confirmed that Ka Ying Rising will handle two barrier trials ahead of his seasonal reappearance—one on the lawn and another on the dirt—sticking strictly to the conditioning program that yielded such spectacular results last term.

Furthermore, the trainer highlighted the excellent physical condition the horse maintained coming off his seasonal respite. "He enjoyed a very good holiday in the spelling paddocks and came back heavier. He's at the highest weight of his entire career, tipping the scales at 1,170 pounds. I think that's a positive, not a negative," he assured.

Backed by an impeccable resume and a physical condition that inspires nothing but optimism, Ka Ying Rising is back in motion. Everything indicates that the champion is fully locked in to defend his crown in Australia with the same level of excellence that established him as the absolute benchmark of world sprinting.
