Carrying 60 kilos, the son of Endorsement was superb in capturing the Handicap Your Majesty, contested over the mile stage

Carrying the top weight of 60 kilos, Rosario-based Hop On extended his outstanding current form and became the centerpiece of the holiday Monday card at Hipódromo de Palermo, winning comfortably in the Handicap Your Majesty, which brought together veterans aged 5 and up over a dirt mile.

It marked the fourth consecutive victory for the Quilmes stable colorbearer—the same silks worn back in the day by the unforgettable Infiltrada (Footstepsinthesand)—with the first two scores coming at Rosario's Independencia racetrack, where he is trained, and the latest two in downtown Palermo, all at the stakes level.

With Diego Cardozo in his irons, the son of Endorsement and First Hop (Salt Lake), who was foaled at the cherished Haras La Quebrada, did not have it easy by any means. He battled upfront with Ronda de Ases (Forge, 56), who drifted him out excessively around the turn.

Upon reaching the homestretch and shaking off that challenger, the favorite Che Vivi (Manipulator, 57) soon entered the picture to throw down a challenge and head him. However, Hop On kept fighting, regained the lead, and clearly drew away.

At the wire, Norberto Ricchi's trainee held a 3-length advantage over Gadzooks (Galán de Cine, 54), one of the longshots, while Boyero Spring (Greenspring, 54) finished a neck back in third, with Che Vivi fading to fourth. The winning time for the event was 1m36s17/100.
