Hot Mash headlined another session at Keeneland, pushing sale totals beyond $196 million

The daughter of Not This Time reached $750,000 during Day 4 of the November Breeding Stock Sale. Although the daily gross declined once again, the cumulative total maintains a 3.59% advantage over the 2025 figures

LEXINGTON, Kentucky (Special for Turf Diario).— The Keeneland market continues to reflect two distinct dynamics: sustained demand for top-tier pedigrees alongside increasing selectivity as the catalog progresses. Day 4 of the November Breeding Stock Sale reaffirmed that trend, headlined by Hot Mash as total aggregate gross surpassed the $196 million mark.
The 3-year-old Not This Time filly, a race winner and Grade 1 performer, commanded Friday's session-topping price when secured by Hugo Merry Bloodstock, acting on behalf of Blue Diamond Stud USA, for $750,000.
Consigned by Taylor Made Sales Agency as a racing or broodmare prospect, Hot Mash brings a high-class maternal page.
She is a half-sister to Grade 1 winner Peace and War (War Front), out of More Oats Please (Smart Strike), from a line featuring graded stakes winners Rushie (Liam's Map), Miss Baja (Mr. Leader), Stoneleigh's Hope (Damascus),and Princess Pietrina (Spectacular Bid).
The sale further showcased the strong market appeal for daughters of Not This Time, currently one of the premier stallions in North America.
Across the fourth session, 229 horses traded hands for $22,399,700, marking an 11.87% decline in daily gross compared to the corresponding session in 2025.
However, the average rose 3.91% to $97,815, while the median dipped 6.67% to settle at $70,000.
Through four days of selling, Keeneland has grossed $196,346,700 for 792 horses sold—a 3.59% increase over the $189,542,500 recorded at the same point last year.
The cumulative average stands at $247,913, representing a 13.27% gain, while the cumulative median remains steady at $150,000.
Behind Hot Mash, three offerings tied for the session's second-highest price at $450,000.
Among them was French Friction (City of Light), a 3-year-old stakes-winning filly purchased by Gainesway.Consigned by Taylor Made, she is out of Grade 2-placed Private Ensign (A.P. Indy), tracing directly to the legendary undefeated champion Personal Ensign (Private Account).
Also reaching $450,000 was Khuluq (Bernardini), a 7-year-old stakes-placed winner offered in foal to Gunite (Gun Runner). She was purchased by Weatherford Bloodstock from the Mill Ridge Sales consignment.
The third lot at $450,000 was the day's top-selling weanling: a colt by Good Magic out of Shesa Mystery(Verrazano), purchased by Castleton Way from the Lane's End draft.
Among the foals, a colt by Early Voting out of Late Nite Music (Maclean's Music) also generated strong bidding, selling to Fair Bloodstock for $385,000.
Weatherford Bloodstock finished as the session's leading buyer, securing two lots for an aggregate of $780,000, which included a $330,000 weanling colt by Domestic Product.
Among consignors, Taylor Made Sales Agency once again led the way, handling 34 sales for a total gross of $3,961,000.
With five sessions remaining, Keeneland maintains positive growth figures over 2025, even as the polarization between elite bloodlines and the broader market becomes increasingly pronounced.
Top prices continue to emerge, but buyer competition remains heavily concentrated on catalog pages capable of generating genuine multi-party bidding.
