Huracán Risk’s rise shows no signs of slowing down, and he made that abundantly clear Wednesday at San Isidro, where he stamped his authority on the Clásico Remigio González Moreno over 1200 meters on the main dirt track, the feature of the day’s card.

It was the second consecutive win for the son of Security Risk, and his third in his last four starts, having launched his career with a fifth-place finish at La Plata, where he began to show signs of real progress.

With Juan Cruz Rivarola in the irons, the dark bay from Stud Mis Hijos, based in Azul, left no room for doubt when the time came to settle matters. He bided his time early as Sea (Daddy Long Legs) set the pace, closely followed by the favorite Garboso Frank (Gidu).

The winner began to turn up the pressure around the far bend and quickly took command upon straightening, while Garboso Frank tried in vain to fend him off and Sea faded badly to finish a distant last.

From there, it was all Huracán Risk, who cruised home five lengths clear of Garboso Frank, with Vampiro Zen(Zensational) another three lengths back in third after a troubled start.

At the head of the field early, the filly Foto Mental (Il Campione) surrendered her unbeaten record without much resistance, feeling the effects of the class hike and the change of venue from La Plata. The final time was an excellent 1:09.77, after lively splits of :23.41 and :46.37.
