Il Campione, Haras El Paraíso, Easing Along, and Pauli Continue to Dominate the stakes Rankings

At the conclusion of the fifth month of the year, the black-type statistics compiled by the Stud Book Argentino continue to show firmly established leaders

Argentina's black-type statistics through the end of May show familiar names atop four of the five categories considered in this report. The lone exception comes among broodmare sires, where Easing Along (Storm Cat) occupies the top spot instead of Orpen (Lure), who ranks third in that division.

Thus, based on earnings, Il Campione (Scat Daddy) remains the leading sire, Haras El Paraíso heads the breeders' standings, Stud Pauli sets the pace among owners, and Need You Tonight is the horse with the highest earnings at the stakes level.

Il Campione's position comes as little surprise. With seven black-type victories to his credit, he holds an advantage of more than 40 million pesos over Angiolo (Grand Reward), who leads all sires by number of stakes wins with nine. Le Blues (Roman Ruler) ranks third, followed by Hat Ninja (Hat Trick) and Fortify (Distorted Humor).

Among breeders, Haras El Paraíso has accumulated earnings of Ps. 280,717,200, while Haras Firmamento sits second with Ps. 229,279,900. Haras Gran Muñeca completes the podium, with Triple Alliance S.A. and Haras La Pasión also firmly in contention.

As noted, Easing Along is the clear leader among broodmare sires. Key Deputy (Deputy Minister) ranks second overall but leads the category in stakes winners with nine. Orpen is third, followed by Sebi Halo (Southern Halo) and Catcher In the Rye (Danehill).

Stud Pauli's performance has been particularly noteworthy. With nine stakes victories already this season, it sits atop the owners' standings. Stud El Wing, supported by Need You Tonight's victory in the Gran Premio República Argentina (G1), occupies second place ahead of Stud Tinta Roja, whose leading performer is the two-time Group 1 winner in May, Gran Gotera (Made You Look). Stud Tres Jotas and Stud Firmamento complete the top five.

Among horses, the aforementioned Need You Tonight and Gran Gotera occupy the first two positions, followed by Indiana Candy (Señor Candy), Magnum Fifth (Daniel Boone), and Thor Medina (Mootasadir).
