According to the rankings compiled by the Stud Book Argentino, solid leaders sit atop the standings, highlighted by Need You Tonight as the highest-earning horse.
The seventh month of racing activity in Argentina has come to a close, and the statistics compiled by the Stud Book Argentino showed no changes regarding its leaders compared to the previous period. Of course, the highest-stakes races with the largest purses are now on the horizon, meaning the standings could soon begin to shift.
Il Campione among stallions, Haras El Paraíso as breeder, Stud Pauli among owners, and Orpen (Lure) in his role as broodmare sire remained atop the standings as of July 31. Looking at individual horses, Need You Tonight (Hat Trick) managed to maintain his position at the summit.
While holding a comfortable rather than overwhelming advantage, Il Campione continues on his path toward another general sire title, reaching 942,193,179 pesos in earnings and holding off Fortify (Distorted Humor), whose progeny have amassed $769,781,673. Slightly further back, Treasure Beach (Galileo) holds a commendable third spot, ahead of Le Blues (Roman Ruler) and Angiolo (Grand Reward), the highest-ranked Argentine-bred stallions.
When it comes to breeders, nothing appears poised to stop El Paraíso from finishing on top once again, as they hold a lead of over 500,000,000 pesos over Firmamento at the summit—a cushion that seems difficult to overturn. Running third, not too far behind, is La Pasión, which is enjoying a strong 2026 campaign, with Vacación and Abolengocompleting the Top 5.
Orpen has dominated the broodmare sire standings for several years now and continues to do so. As the months progress, he is steadily opening daylight over Easing Along (Storm Cat), who continues to fight tooth and nail. Sebi Halo(Southern Halo), Pure Prize (Storm Cat), and Equal Stripes (Candy Stripes) round out the top five positions in the table.
The remarkable performance of the runners representing Stud Pauli allows the silks to hold a clear lead among owners, staying ahead of Firmamento, Santa Inés, Rubio B., and Tramo 20, boasting an impressive record of 10 stakes victories on the season.
Among individual horses, Need You Tonight holds the lead over the recently sold Indiana Candy (Señor Candy), who will add no further earnings to her total. Right behind in third is Neat Colt (Treasure Beach), sitting above the 3-year-old colt Colorado del Monte (Strategos) and the sprinter Le Cornette (Emmanuel).
