Il Campione Leads; Breeders and Broodmare Sires Battle; Firmamento Tops Owners’ Standings

After the First Seven Months of Action, Argentina’s Standings Look Far from Decided
Though August is already underway, the breakdown of the Stud Book Argentino standings through July 31 was still pending. The latest figures show Il Campione (Scat Daddy), Haras El Paraíso, Easing Along (Storm Cat) among broodmare sires, and Stud Firmamento leading their respective divisions, although—with most of the year still ahead—final outcomes remain very much in play.
Il Campione continues to set the pace among stallions, his progeny having earned AR$ 830,221,048, ahead of Fortify(Distorted Humor) on AR$ 699,469,567. Further back, Remote (Dansili) holds third, followed by the best-placed domestic sires, Hi Happy (Pure Prize) and Cosmic Trigger (Lizard Island).
Among breeders, the race is tightening as the months pass. El Paraíso retains the lead with AR$ 1,297,006,717, but Firmamento is within striking distance on AR$ 1,136,071,616. La Pasión is enjoying an outstanding year in third (AR$ 824,072,389), with Vacación and Abolengo rounding out the top five.
In the broodmare sire category, Easing Along has edged clear in his bid to halt Orpen (Lure)’s streak, leading AR$ 842,511,017 to AR$ 729,882,847. Sebi Halo (Southern Halo), Roman Ruler (Fusaichi Pegasus), and Pure Prize (Storm Cat) are also adding steadily to their totals.
The most commanding leader across the board is Stud Firmamento, which is nearly doubling the earnings of its nearest rival, Mamina. Tinta Roja remains a constant contributor, while Santa Inés and Rodolfo Pedro follow from further back.
On the individual runners’ table, Need You Tonight (Hat Ninja) holds a wide advantage thanks to his victories in the G1 Gran Premio República Argentina and G1 Estrellas Classic. El Exito (Il Campione), Coni Fizz (Marconi), and Charm (Strategos)—all Estrellas winners—follow in that order, with Crazy Talent (Equal Stripes) close behind in fifth.
