Illa Alegre Aims to Bounce Back in the Slop; Cordoba-Owned Filly Stands Out in Especial Argentaria

LA PLATA.- Tuesday’s program at Hipódromo de La Plata offers little in terms of quality, with the track expected to be extremely heavy after sustained rainfall since Sunday—a condition that could complicate many runners and potentially lead to scratches.
The feature will be the Especial Aerostática (1400m, dirt) for fillies and mares aged four and up, with a base weight of 52 kilos and a 2-kilo penalty for each subsequent win. Standing out clearly is the seasoned Illa Alegre (Sabat Husson), who will carry top weight of 58 kilos while dropping in class in search of another victory.
Racing for Stud El Barrial, the mare was most recently fourth behind Bella Marieta (Cosmic Trigger) in the Clásico Joaquín V. Maqueda (G3), but had previously posted back-to-back wins in the Handicap Haras de La Pomme and the Clásico Otelo A. Orlandi (L).
Her main opposition comes from Estrella del Día (Il Campione, 54), who captured the Clásico Maldivas over this course before adding a pair of placings in top-level company.
As usual, Jalimba (Señor Candy, 54) is expected to go straight to the front. She was runner-up to Illa Alegre in the Handicap Haras de La Pomme but was a distant third in her latest start, the Especial Wanna Dance, leaving her with something to prove.
Tac-Tac (Manipulator, 52) always merits respect, especially getting in light at the weights, the same impost carried by Mayora Chuck (Chuck Berry) and Cosmic Parade (Cosmic Trigger). Rounding out the field is Furiosa Vis (Furious Key, 54), a wildcard in the lineup.
