With apprentice jockey Maximiliano Machado in her irons, she defeated the favorite Naimabad by 1 length on the dirt

The adage that the last shall be first made headlines once again on the dirt of San Isidro Racecourse this Wednesday, as Isolation caused an upset and flew down the stretch to capture the Clásico Vale Dori (1200 m, normal dirt), the centerpiece of a different kind of Wednesday afternoon.
With patience, apprentice jockey Maximiliano Machado kept the daughter of Suggestive Boy in the rear guard while White Lotus (Daddy Long Legs) set the pace under pressure from several rivals, establishing fractions of 23s30/100 and 46s15/100.
Once in the straight, the winner found room along the inside and did not stop until she hit the front, overtaking the favorite Naimabad (Il Campione, 58), who had dominated the leader midway through the final stretch, and defeating her by 1 length, making the most of the 53 1/2 kilos she was assigned to carry.
A half-neck back, and finding her advance a bit more complicated, Amonet (Mask, 55 1/2) completed the trifecta, all stopped in 1m9s88/100, a more than solid mark for the division.
A homebred for Haras Carampangue, Isolation was coming off a victory in an allowance race at Palermo, and, it is fair to recall, just over a year ago she had put in a meritorious performance when finishing a head second to Pecadora Joy(Fortify) in the Clásico Jamelao (L), also at La Catedral.
Back then, when it seemed her best was yet to come, she began to drift into insignificance until finally rediscovering her top level in recent weeks.
Isolation is the fourteenth stakes-winning offspring for champion Suggestive Boy (Easing Along) and is out of Irwina(Orpen), which makes her a half-sister to the 2021 Champion 3-Year-Old Colt Irwin (Seek Again), winner of the grand prizes Polla de Potrillos (G1) and Nacional (G1), as well as the classics Chevalier (G2), Miguel Cané (G2), 9 de Julio(G2), and Engrillado.
Irwina has also produced Irisa (Pure Prize), who managed to win the Classics Bullrich (G2) and Contraventora; Inculcada (Pure Prize); and Irwani (True Cause).
