The Franco Scarpello trainee faces a tough 1800-meter test, with Cyboogie and Miss Talento shaping up as her main rivals

Thursday’s racing schedule in Argentina shifts to Hipódromo Argentino de Palermo, replacing the usual La Plata card. An entertaining 11-race program awaits at Avenida del Libertador and Dorrego, highlighted by the Handicap Jorge H. Iglesias, honoring the historic San Isidro general manager.
Run over 1800 meters for fillies and mares four and up, the feature drew a field of eight, with It’s My Look installed as the leading candidate. The daughter of Equal Stripes makes another attempt at the upper level, coming off a confidence-boosting local victory. Highly regarded, the Stud Los Betos filly has won two of her last three starts, with her only miss a fourth-place finish in the G2 Clásico Bullrich over heavy going that did not suit her. She carries 55.5 kilos.
Her main rival is the far more seasoned Cyboogie (Galicado), assigned top weight of 60 kilos. Formerly campaigned by Stud El Turf, she was unplaced when debuting for Stud Rodolfo Pedro, finishing fifth and last in the Handicap Elías Antúnez. However, she closed out last season with victories in the G2 Clásico Juan Shaw and G2 Clásico Chile, and in 2023 captured this very Handicap Jorge H. Iglesias.
Breaking from the outside post is Miss Talento (Equal Talent, 57), who ran a strong second last time out in the Handicap Cote D’Or, just 1 1/2 lengths behind Vedette Queen (Suggestive Boy). Prior to that, she finished fourth, beaten 5 3/4 lengths by Coni Fizz (Marconi) in the G3 Clásico Círculo de Propietarios de Caballeriza SPC, underscoring her current solid form.
Trainer Franco Scarpello sends out It’s My Look, while his father, Gustavo Scarpello, saddles Priola (South Kissing, 54.5), a consistent filly in this division though perhaps a notch below the main contenders.
Existing (Winning Prize, 50) runs without the whip after finishing third behind Garbiñe (Lucullan) in a recent conditions race. Doble Amarilla (Suggestive Boy, 52), Almas Vasca (Alma de Acero, 53), and Elvi Grace (Southern Cat, 54) complete the lineup.
