LA PLATA.- Another compact card awaits this Tuesday at Hipódromo de La Plata, though with the positive note that the overall quality is vastly superior to the embarrassing program staged last Saturday.

Among several interesting allowance races, the highlights are the Clásico Miss Loren (1600m, dirt) and the Especial Cafrune (1500m, dirt), the former for mares aged four and up under weight-for-age conditions, and the latter for horses four and older with three or more wins.

An intriguing clash is set in the race honoring the outstanding Firmamento mare who won at the G1 level both here and in the United States, with the main attraction being the consistent It’s My Look (Equal Stripes), sent from Campo 2 at Hipódromo de San Isidro by Gustavo and Franco Scarpello.

The Stud Los Betos runner has been taking steady steps forward. At Palermo, she captured the Handicap Blue Stripe (2000m) before returning to the same venue to finish second, beaten five lengths by Gigantografía (Bodemeister), in the Handicap Elías Antúnez (1800m).

She cuts back slightly in distance and, notably, her only prior start at La Plata came in August of last season, when she finished second by one length to Bella Marieta (Cosmic Trigger) in the Clásico Manuel F. y Emilio Gnecco (G3) over a mile.

As a very serious rival to It’s My Look stands End of Spring (Il Campione), also based at the Jockey Club training center but trained by Guillermo Frenkel Santillán. She will be looking to regain confidence after finishing seventh in the Clásico Paseana (G2), following a solid allowance victory at San Isidro. Slightly below them on paper are La Guernica (Il Campione) and Sia (Puerto Escondido), both seeking to spring an upset.

Earlier on the card comes the Especial Cafrune, featuring a strong field led by Yak Sport (Glory Seattle, 56), winner of the Clásico Jockey Club de Corrientes and later third in the Especial Jockey Club de Mendoza, both over this track. A brave front-runner, he faces challenges from Talento Emergente (Equal Talent, 56) and Silencio Dramático (Grand Reward, 54), representatives of Stud Pauli and trainer Marcelo Sueldo, who have already shown considerable ability.

Meanwhile, Colour Vision (Univision, 56) and Bombay Lake (Anjiz Lake, 54) arrive off a 1-2 finish in the aforementioned Especial Jockey Club de Mendoza and will try once again to finish ahead of Yak Sport.
