NEW KENT, Virginia (Special for Turf Diario).- The wait is over. Suablenanav TH, Uruguay’s 2024 Triple Crown hero, is set to make his much-anticipated U.S. debut this Saturday at Colonial Downs. Now under the care of Ignacio Correas IV and to be ridden by French jockey Vincent Cheminaud, the son of T.H. Approval will contest a $75,000 allowance optional claiming event carrying a purse of $80,000 over 1 1/16 miles on dirt.

Drawn on the rail, the grey will be one of two runners in the race representing Brownwood Farm—the U.S. arm of Haras Phillipson—and Correas, alongside Rambo Approved (T.H. Approval), who will be partnered by fellow Argentine Horacio Karamanos.

Set to race on Lasix for the first time, Suablenanav TH has not competed since finishing third behind the formidable El Kodigo (Equal Stripes) in the G1 Gran Premio José Pedro Ramírez at Maroñas on January 6. Prior to that, he captured the Campeones Juvenile and reeled off victories in the Gran Criterium, Polla de Potrillos (G3), Jockey Club (G3), and Nacional (G1), all at Maroñas, to sweep Uruguay’s Triple Crown.

“He’s done everything right since arriving here, so we’re hopeful he will run well,” said Correas from Lexington, Kentucky. “We found this spot to launch his campaign. In his works he’s shown quality, though he tends to idle a bit when alone or after passing company. He went six furlongs the other day in 1:15 nicely and will have a final breeze Monday to tighten up. Everything is in order.”

Rambo Approved, winner of the 2023 Jockey Club in Uruguay, broke his maiden locally at Horseshoe Indianapolis but has failed to hit the board in his last three starts.

Despite a field of just six, the race will be no easy task. Among the opposition is Strong Quality (Quality Road), trained by Mark Casse, who counts wins in the Colonel E. R. Bradley Stakes (L) and Knicks Go Overnight Handicap (L), plus a runner-up effort in the Fair Grounds Stakes (G3), though his current form is below peak.

Real Macho (Mucho Macho Man), winner of the Carry Back Stakes (L) at Gulfstream Park and fourth in the Fountain of Youth (G2), adds depth to the lineup, while Shake Em Loose (Shakin It Up), a dual stakes winner at Laurel Park, and Bartlett (Not This Time), coming off a Penn National victory after two subpar stakes tries, round out the field.
