The mare and the colt return to a surface where they've always excelled, with their sights set on the Wanna Dance and La Plata Capital, respectively

LA PLATA.- The Wanna Dance (1400m, dirt) and La Plata Capital (1400m, dirt) will serve as the feature events on Sunday’s program at Hipódromo de La Plata, each drawing a competitive field for their respective divisions.
In the former—restricted to mares aged five and up with at least three wins—Jalimba (54 kg) looms large as she returns to the track where she had been thriving prior to a dull showing at San Isidro. The daughter of Señor Candy captured the Miss Loren S. here in late April, then came back to finish a close second, beaten just a neck by Illa Alegre (Sabat Husson), in the Haras de la Pomme H., while conceding her 3.5 kilos. That runner-up effort looks even stronger considering Illa Alegre has since emerged as a bona fide stakes reference over middle distances in the south.
Among the main threats is the lightweight Funny Polly (Astern, 52 kg), who was just a length short of Señora Bagaces(Señor Candy) in the Haras El Tala S. before finishing off the board up north.
Not to be overlooked is the classy Ingres (Galicado), who will carry topweight of 56 kg. A stakes winner herself, she has been a consistent performer at the higher levels throughout an outstanding career.
Later in the afternoon, the La Plata Capital S. will bring together a well-regarded group of 4-year-olds and up, all with at least three wins to their name.
Recent form favors both Le Massif (Le Ken, 56 kg), winner of the Clásico Mariano Moreno, and El Ernesto (Señor Candy, 60 kg), who scored in the Talavera S. and a conditional event at San Isidro.
They’ll have to contend with Es Aristocrático (Angiolo, 54 kg), who was beaten less than 10 lengths by El Exito (Il Campione) in the G1 Gran Premio Estrellas Mile, and now returns to a surface and distance that historically bring out his best.
Also in the mix are Aroma Rim (Remote, 52 kg), Glorioso Rim (Remote, 52 kg), and Payucano (Mask, 54 kg), each a serious player in their own right.
