The talented daughter of Fortify easily drew clear of the field to score a dominant victory in the Handicap Haras Chapadmalal, allowing her pilot to sweeping both of the afternoon's featured central attractions

Jockey Martín Valle enjoyed a flawless afternoon on Monday at Hipódromo Argentino de Palermo, sweeping both featured attractions on the marathon program. After orchestrating a clever off-the-pace upset aboard Hale Bopp (Equal Stripes) in the Handicap Picapleitos earlier on the card, the talented reinsman returned to the winner's circle under the stadium lights, driving home the progressive Joy Traviesa (56.5 kg/approx. 124 lbs) to a convincing score in the featured Handicap Haras Chapadmalal over 1,200 meters.
Bred and campaigned as a homebred for the prestigious Stud-Haras Santa Inés, the daughter of Fortify entered the sprint fixture on the heels of two competitive minor placings following a brief optimization layoff. On Monday night, she officially recaptured her absolute finest form—the exact brilliant level that saw her conquer the Handicap Borobeta late last season under identical track and distance conditions.
Breaking from an inside post position in an extremely deep field, which was only slightly modified by the late scratch of high weight Maylena, Joy Traviesa was handled with immense patience by Valle. The pilot unhurriedly settled the filly along the rail to save ground in mid-pack while Furiosa Vis (Furious Key, 51 kg) established a frantic early tempo, before quickly yielding the leadership to a heavily pressed Emely (Il Campione, 59.5 kg).
As the field straightened away into the long Palermo homestretch, the new pacesetter attempted to dig in and draw clear, but a wall of closing longshots began to mount their rallies from the back of the pack. Valle showing nerves of steel, angled Joy Traviesa off the rail and tipped her into the clear down an outside lane to launch her bid. The response from the Santa Inés homebred was instantaneous and devastating.
Swallowing up ground with giant strides, the winner took absolute command at the 120-meter marker and rapidly pulled away from her tiring rivals, crossing the wire with a comfortable two-length advantage. A resilient Furiosa Vis fought back gamely along the inside to secure the runner-up spot, while the low-weighted longshot Sir Limonada (Lencelot, 54 kg) completed the trifecta at the head of a massive, hard-charging chasing pack. The final time for the six furlongs was stopped in 1:11.55 over a fast dirt track.
Saddled by veteran conditioner Enrique Martín Ferro, the future looks exceptionally bright for Joy Traviesa as she prepares to transition into her five-year-old campaign. Having successfully rediscovered the top-flight form she displayed at the conclusion of her sophomore season, the progressive mare appears fully capable of dominating the metropolitan handicap ranks or stepping back up into graded stakes company in the near future.
Furthermore, her continuous racetrack success carries immense residual value for her future career in the breeding shed. Hailing from the magnificent maternal bloodline of the legendary, unforgettable Argentine champion Team (Southern Halo), every additional victory she secures enhances an already brilliant pedigree—and if those updates continue to come in black-type company, all the better.
