The winners of the Pedro Piñeyrúa (G3) and the Ciudad de Montevideo (G1) have now triumphed in the Otoño (L) and Diana (G3) classics

MONTEVIDEO, Uruguay (Special for Turf Diario) – Sí Señor and Dale Flojita seem to be in perfect sync when it comes to shining. On January 6th, they played pivotal roles, winning the prestigious Pedro Piñeyrúa (G3) and Ciudad de Montevideo (G1), and this Sunday, they once again stood out together on the dirt of Hipódromo Nacional de Maroñas, this time claiming victories in the Otoño and Diana (G3) classics, respectively, both over a mile on heavy ground.
For the colt, it was a reaffirmation of his dominant form in local middle-distance races, securing his fifth consecutive victory, all of them at the classic level. A son of Señor Candy and Juilliard (Not for Sale), bred by Haras La Concordia and trained by Antonio Cintra – presented by Jorge Rey – for Stud Los Dos, he once again made a decisive statement, defeating Latte Macchiato (Put It Back) by 2 ½ lengths, with Nuestro Sueño (The Leopard) finishing third by a head, all after a time of 1m36s16/100.
"It’s spectacular what he’s been doing, and it’s a tremendous joy to share it with the family. We were talking with Vagner- Leal, the jockey – that at this level, races are always tough, and that makes everything he’s doing on the mile even more impressive. Now, we’ll talk with the team to decide what the future holds," said Federico Mattos, son of Álvaro Mattos, the owner of the chestnut, speaking to the Maroñas microphone.
For Dale Flojita, it was a confirmation of her huge win on January 6th, with the added factor of dropping from 2000 meters to 1600 meters, which translates to completely different race paces – a challenge she handled decisively. At the line, she had a 2 ½ length advantage over Best Bright (Can the Man), with Los Angeles (Drosselmeyer) in third, another 1 ½ lengths behind. Her time of 1m38s8/100 was notably slower than Sí Señor's.
The daughter of the champion sire Sloane Avenue and Flavia (De Pizarra) is owned by Stud-Haras El Trébol, trained by Roberto Solanes, and was ridden by Javier Pérez.
The day also featured another highlight with the 1000th victory at Maroñas for jockey Héctor Lazo, achieved with the filly Tango Dream (Will Take Charge) in the Premio Warm Punch (1200 m, dirt), bred by Haras Phillipson and trained by Facundo Santesteban.
