The colts' division will see almost all the leaders of the generation face off; among the fillies, Gran Gotera is the major absentee, but Gota Clara Sos (pictured) seeks her coronation

Opening the double-header of the Carreras de las Estrellas, the 2-year-olds will take center stage this Friday. Iconic events within the series organized by the Fundación Equina Argentina, the Gran Premio Estrellas Juvenile (G1-1600 m, turf) and Gran Premio Estrellas Juvenile Fillies (G1-1600 m, turf), for colts and fillies respectively, will serve as the featured attractions on a card that also includes the Estrellas Junior Sprint (G3), the Estrellas Dirt Junior, and the Estrellas Dirt, the latter tailored for mares 3 years old and up.

Among the colts, the divisional championship will be on the line in a clash featuring the vast majority of the most prominent names from the first half of the year. The situation is quite different among the fillies, where Gran Gotera(Made You Look) seems to already have a claim on the crown following her triumphs in the Gran Premio Jorge de Atucha (G1) and the Gran Premio de Potrancas (G1), despite being absent from the starting gates as she is not nominated to the Estrellas series.

Setting up a highly anticipated rematch in the Juvenile, Roi du Monde (Treasure Beach) will look to confirm his superiority over Stay Tune (Fortify), whom he just defeated in the Gran Premio Gran Criterium (G1).

At the same time, the top three finishers from Palermo's Gran Premio Montevideo (G1) will face each other once again. In that race, Colorado del Monte (Strategos) was disqualified from first to third, handing the victory to Emotion Rate(Emotion Orpen), while Paulo Sil (Treasure Beach) inherited the runner-up spot.

Adding further depth to the lineup is Fletcher (Gershwin), the recent winner of the Clásico Pedro Goenaga (G2) at La Plata, within a field that also features Barto (Pneumatic), Corazón Federal (Strategos), Emotion Prize (Emotion Orpen), and Full Lujoso (Full Mast).

Among the fillies, the name to beat is Gota Clara Sos (Made You Look), winner of the Gran Premio Eliseo Ramírez(G1) and runner-up to her paternal half-sister Gran Gotera in the aforementioned Gran Premio de Potrancas (G1).

The eight rivals tasked with facing the Stud Pauli defender will be: Embozada Rim (Remote), Foun Garota(Gouverneur Morris), Gunakali (King Guillermo), Hi Intense (Hi Happy), Ruby Rose (Il Campione), Sabia Epona(Seize), and Unica Forma (Full Mast).

The purses for both the Juvenile and Juvenile Fillies will reach 80,000,000 pesos, with $50,000,000 reserved for each of the winners.
