The major May 1 program at Hipódromo Argentino de Palermo will also shine a strong spotlight on the 2-year-olds, with the next leaders of the division set to emerge in two key events. Fillies will clash in the G1 Gran Premio Jorge de Atucha, while colts will meet in the G1 Gran Premio Montevideo, both contested over 1500 meters on dirt.

Each race offers a winner’s purse of ARS 25,000,000, with total entry costs set at ARS 1,065,000—figures that, as is often the case, are not later added to the purse.

Among the fillies, Embozada Rim (Remote), winner of the G3 Carlos Casares and G2 Saturnino J. Unzué, faces a significant test as she stretches out from 1200 to 1500 meters against a deep group. Chief among her challengers are Personal Filly and Live Your Life, both daughters of Dabster trained by Juan Saldivia, who have impressed in their respective rises through the ranks.

From the G2 Eliseo Ramírez at San Isidro come Deep Feeling (Seahenge) and Full Question (Full Mast), who finished second and fourth, respectively, behind the unbeaten Gota Clara Sos (Made You Look).

Also stepping up with strong credentials are maiden-breaking standouts La Agostinelli (Tetaze) and Tarea Fácil(Fortify), both entering top-level company with momentum. They are joined by Achispada (Have At It), with graded experience at La Plata, along with Gran Gotera (Made You Look), Sabia Epona (Seize), and Siesta (Cityscape), completing a list of 11 likely runners.

In the Montevideo, a compelling clash could develop between the leaders of the juvenile divisions on dirt and turf. Muy Macho Win (Gershwin), winner of the G2 Santiago Luro, is set to meet Cardo Castilla (Strategos), who captured the G2 Raúl y Raúl E. Chevalier.

Desert Voice (Dabster), runner-up in the G3 Crespo, brings proven stakes form, while the rest of the field includes Blue Star (Panegírico), impressive debut winner Colorado del Monte (Strategos), Emotion Rate (Emotion Orpen), Paulo Sil(Treasure Beach), and Thomas Shelby (Uncle Chuck).

With both races likely to define the early hierarchy of the 2-year-old division on Palermo dirt, the Atucha and Montevideo promise to deliver compelling and revealing contests on one of the sport’s biggest stages.
