Kahlo topped the Gran Venta Selección at Haras Los Turfistas

Amid a true celebration, the filly by Il Campione, consigned by Haras Tres Jotas, was acquired for $50,000 by Roberto Pellegatta, acting as agent

Haras Los Turfistas was dressed in full celebration last Saturday for a new edition of its Gran Venta Selección. Accompanied by Haras Tres Jotas, its strategic partner, and with the event organized by the firm Racehorse, the farm once again shone with its own light, both for the strong prices fetched by the offered yearlings and for the accustomed top-tier presentation.

When it came time to bid, master trainer Roberto Pellegatta was among the most active, working in tandem with Juan Saldivia—who almost simultaneously was in the winner's circle with Personal Filly (Dabster) in the Gran Premio Selección (G1) at La Plata—securing several offerings, including Kahlo, who ultimately commanded the afternoon's top price.

Consigned by Tres Jotas, the daughter of Il Campione drew a final bid of $50,000. She is out of the outstanding Salonika (Roman Ruler), a winner of the Clásico Chile (G3) during her racing career who has already produced a pair of winners.

The second-highest price went to another filly, Holanda, from Los Turfistas. Foaled August 22, the bay is a daughter of Daddy Long Legs and Hilu (Seeking Daylight), one of the few sisters at stud to champion Hi Happy and G1 winners Hispanidad and Hinz—all by Pure Prize. A half-sister to two-time Peruvian winner Hotel Victoria (Hurricane Cat), she reached $40,000.

Rounding out the podium for top prices was another female: La Cubista. Offered by Tres Jotas, she reached $36,000, purchased by trainer Miguel Velazco, acting as agent. By Angiolo out of Actuada (Luhuk), she is a full or half-sister to 4 winners—including two full siblings—led by La Sabiduría (Grand Reward), a four-time winner at Palermo at ages 2 and 3.

The 34 offerings that passed through the ring generated total sales of $838,000, yielding an average of $24,647 and a median of $23,625.
