LEXINGTON, Kentucky—The third session of the Keeneland November Breeding Stock Sale carried forward the strong momentum of the first two days, underscoring a vibrant and confident marketplace. With $44 million in total sales, up 30.27% year-over-year, the day was topped by Taylor Swifter, a 4-year-old daughter of American Pharoah in foal to Flightline, who sold for $700,000 to Bryant Prentice’s Pursuit of Success.

Consigned by Gainesway, Taylor Swifter descends from a powerhouse female family that includes sires Liam’s Mapand Not This Time. Her dam, Taylor S. (Medaglia d’Oro), was a stakes winner and graded-placed mare.

“It was another fantastic day—the natural continuation of what we saw yesterday,” said Tony Lacy, Keeneland’s Vice President of Sales. “The enthusiasm remained steady throughout, with a marketplace that never lost energy. The session broke from the gate strong and finished with that same pace.”

Book 2 concluded with 239 horses sold, up 30% from last year’s 212, while the average price rose 15.5% to $184,213 and the median climbed 20.7% to $160,000.

Across the first three sessions, 596 horses have sold for a total of $164,126,000, a 30.7% increase over 2024. The overall average rose 21.9% to $275,379, with the median up 11.7% to $190,000.

Depth and Diversity Drive Demand

“The consistency is what’s most impressive,” noted Cormac Breathnach, Keeneland’s Senior Director of Sales Operations. “We sold 239 horses to 179 different buyers. Among the top 20 weanling prices, there were 19 different sires and 19 different buyers. That’s exactly what we strive for—a deep, healthy, and diverse market.”

Demand for weanlings remained strong, fueled by spirited bidding and a wide buyer base. “The atmosphere was vibrant—lots of smiles and clear confidence in the air,” added Lacy.

Gainesway led all consignors on the day, grossing $7,227,000 from 34 horses sold.

Beyond Taylor Swifter, other standout transactions reinforced the market’s strength. Apple Picker (Connect), a G3 winner, brought $650,000 from Family & Friends. Two lots reached $600,000—a Nyquist colt sold by Indian Creekto Clover Leaf Bloodstock, and Sea Garden (Curlin), in foal to Practical Joke, purchased by Finn Green, agent.

Adding an international touch, Lunar Impact (GB), a daughter of Zoustar and winner of the Mizdirection Stakes at Santa Anita, sold for $550,000 to CHC Inc.

Clover Leaf Bloodstock topped all buyers, acquiring five horses for $1.23 million.

With three sessions now complete, Keeneland’s November Sale continues to outpace last year’s results, demonstrating a robust market marked by strong averages, competitive bidding, and broad participation.

Book 3 opens Friday, as Lexington’s marquee breeding stock sale keeps proving that confidence—and prices—are both on the rise.
