The American auction house added two figures of enormous regional influence in order to further strengthen its international recruitment strategy and deepen relationships with South American breeders and buyers

In a move that further confirms South America’s growing importance within the global Thoroughbred marketplace, Keeneland announced the addition of Ignacio Correas IV and Ezequiel Valle as new sales representatives for the region.

The news represents a major strategic step by the historic auction company, which continues strengthening its international structure with figures deeply connected to South American racing and carrying extensive relationships across the continent’s leading markets.

The appointments come only weeks after the addition of Reed Ringler to the sales team, in a clear sign that the American company intends to continue expanding its worldwide base of buyers and sellers.

“South America remains a very important part of that effort,” explained Tony Lacy, Keeneland’s Vice President of Sales.

“Keeneland has always maintained a global vision regarding recruitment and international relationships, aiming to build the most diverse buying bench possible. Ignacio and Ezequiel bring invaluable experience, perspective, and connections that will strengthen our relationships with clients throughout the region,” he added.

The selection of Correas and Valle appears difficult to improve upon.

A member of one of Argentina’s most historic racing families, Ignacio Correas IV concluded his outstanding training career in 2025 after decades of major success in the United States. Based in Kentucky for many years, he built an impeccable reputation within the North American industry while always maintaining strong ties to South America.

“It is an honor to join the Keeneland team,” said Correas.

“I look forward to supporting both current and future South American clients,” added the horseman who achieved top-level victories in American racing and became one of the most respected Argentine trainers abroad.

Meanwhile, Ezequiel Valle represents a new generation of executives and professionals connected to the international breeding industry.

Based in Argentina, Valle holds a leadership role at Haras Firmamento, one of the continent’s most important and traditional breeding operations.

With more than two decades of experience in breeding, stallion management, and international campaigns, Valle also oversees horses in training across multiple countries and serves on the board of the International Thoroughbred Breeders Federation, representing both Argentina and South America on the global stage.

“I’m proud to represent Keeneland and to further strengthen relationships with South American clients,” commented Valle.

“I’ve attended Keeneland sales for years as both a buyer and a seller, so I fully understand what our clients value and how we can help them maximize their participation. In addition, working alongside Ignacio is a tremendous advantage because of his deep knowledge of both the industry and Keeneland,” he added.

The addition of both men also reinforces the increasing international recognition being earned by South American racing and breeding, whose influence continues expanding steadily both commercially and on the racetrack.

Correas and Valle will now join Keeneland’s international representative team alongside Ed Prosser (Europe), Kate Hunter (Japan), and Barry Bowditch (Australia), further consolidating a truly global structure for one of the most influential companies in the Thoroughbred world.
