BUENOS AIRES, Argentina (Special to Turf Diario)— Friday’s card at Palermo offered several high-interest points among the allowance ranks, though wagering totals arrived slightly below expectations. Total handle reached $552,869,399 pesos, averaging $36,857,960 per race.

The juvenile division took center stage over 1,400 meters, signaling the transition into the season's major events. Among the fillies, La Agostinelli secured a dominant victory in the Premio Demostrame. The daughter of champion Tetaze, conditioned by Omar Farfán, followed up on a promising debut to win by a widening 6 lengths. Ridden by Wilson Moreyra for Stud Sublime Horse, she overtook the favorite La Minari mid-stretch and stopped the clock in 1:24.76. Bred by Sergio O. Savi, she is now pointed toward the Gran Premio Jorge de Atucha (G1) in 20 days.

In the colt’s division, the Premio Look Portal featured a thrilling finish between two Juan Saldivia trainees. Lunfardo (Daddy Long Legs) showed immense grit to duel early with Montaldo and then hold off a late charge from stablemate Fletcher (Gershwin) by a nose. Piloted by William Pereyra for Stud Las Canarias, the Haras Los Turfistas-bred colt clocked 1:24.54, potentially punching his ticket to the Gran Premio Montevideo (G1).

The Premio Francoville (1,400m) carried the afternoon's highest expectations as it marked the return of Gardel Pass (Distinctiv Passion). The 2025 Gran Premio Polla de Potrillos (G1) winner was making his first start after a lengthy layoff due to a minor tendon injury. Burdened by 61 kilos (134 lbs) and racing fitness, the heavy favorite finished a respectable fourth.

The spoils went to Don Griego (Long Island Sound), who returned to the winner's circle with a 3-length victory over Ocean Water and Test End, who dead-heated for second. It was the fourth win in five starts for the Luis A. Ojedatrainee, bred by Haras San Benito and ridden by Lucas González.
