The South Kissing filly will tackle the Handicap Sandal, carrying the top weight of 60 kilograms

Carrying 60 kilograms, La Gran Furtiva will look to keep adding to her impressive record in the sprints when she lines up in the Handicap Sandal (1000m, turf) this Saturday at Hipódromo de San Isidro. The race is the highlight of a 16-race card that will also feature the Gran Premio Latinoamericano (G1), broadcast live from Hipódromo da Gávea in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
The South Kissing filly has run five times, winning four, most recently in commanding fashion just over a month ago. Under the same conditions she faces now, she captured the G3 Clásico Condesa, defeating Enjoy Dancing (Hi Happy) by three lengths in her first start on turf. If she reproduces that form, where she looked exceptionally strong, the chestnut appears extremely hard to beat.
Her main rival appears to be Forever Rim (Remote, 57.5 kg), coming off a run in the G1 Gran Premio Suipacha, now stepping down in class to try to regain momentum. Firmamento’s runner had finished fourth in the G3 Clásico Ocurrencia, but previously took the Producción Nacional (L), showing she is very comfortable on the Jockey Club’s straight course.
The Cordoba-bred La Mykonos (Mast) recently won a conditional race at Palermo decisively and could make her presence felt here, while A La Vista (Angiolo, 56 kg), Cold Mind (Lucullan, 53.5 kg), and Durmia (Cityscape, 58 kg) will look to capitalize on their experience. Lightweights Kea (Fortify, 54 kg) and Nisa (Angiolo, 53.5 kg) also promise to provide a lively challenge in what shapes up as an interesting sprint.
