La Madrina disperses its entire 2024 crop this Wednesday at auction

Offspring by Cosmic Trigger, Le Blues, and Ivar (pictured), among others, make up the group that will be auctioned online beginning at 6 p.m.

The string of yearling sales will continue this Wednesday with the complete dispersal of the 2024 colts and fillies from Haras La Madrina, conducted by Martín Zubeldía Horse Sales and scheduled to begin at 6 p.m. under an online format.

A total of 18 youngsters will go through the ring, including offspring by established stallions such as Cosmic Trigger (Lizard Island), Daddy Long Legs (Scat Daddy), Le Blues (Roman Ruler), Storm Embrujado (Bernstein), Señor Candy (Candy Ride), and Treasure Beach (Galileo), along with members of the second crop by Pneumatic (Uncle Mo) and a colt from the first crop of champion Ivar (Agnes Gold).

Among the highlights will be Nonina, a filly by Cosmic Trigger out of G2 winner Norina (Exchange Rate), while another major attraction is Romana Cósmica, also by Cosmic Trigger and, in her case, a maternal half-sister to G3 winner Grand Splendid (Grand Reward).

The offspring of Ivar have already been generating strong interest in the sales ring, and La Madrina will offer the colt Iván, out of Nikolayevna (Catcher In the Rye), a Palermo winner at 3 and granddaughter of the unforgettable Necessaire (Bright Again), Horse of the Year at Maroñas in Uruguay and later the producer of multiple stakes winner Honor Charrúa (Honour and Glory).

During the pre-bidding stage, another of the most requested lots has been Vita Ruler, by Cosmic Trigger out of Khalesi Queen (Roman Ruler), herself a granddaughter of G1 winner Kali Baby (Aptitude). Considerable interest has also surrounded the two colts by Le Blues: Le Maestro and Le Rhodesia.

The sale will be conducted in 10 installments in U.S. dollars, while buyers paying cash will receive a 10 percent discount.
