A tough challenge awaits the Le Blues filly, who comes off a comeback victory in the Cooperativa de Criadores de SPC Ltda. (L)

LA PLATA—Another long racing program awaits on Thursday at this track, with 16 races on tap and the Clásico República de Chile as its centerpiece. Run at 1200 meters under weight-for-age conditions for fillies and mares 4 and up, the race brings together several of the division’s key names—even if only five will face the starter.
Without question, the heavy favorite is La Meninha (Le Blues), the undisputed No. 1 of the field, who remains unbeaten at La Plata after five starts—most recently on Nov. 19, when she returned from more than four months on the sidelines to capture the Clásico Asociación Cooperativa de Criadores de SPC Ltda. (L). She displayed her trademark late acceleration that afternoon, and with that comeback effort now tightening her fitness, she appears extremely difficult to beat—especially if there is pace, which seems almost guaranteed.
That early pace should come from the talented Emely (Il Campione), a fierce rival from any angle and even more dangerous after regaining confidence with a determined front-running victory at Palermo 23 days ago, when she held off Bichita de Luz in the Clásico Día de la Soberanía Nacional.
Truly Princess (Daddy Long Legs) aims for redemption. She was a dominant force here last season, winning the Helda, Santiago Luro, and Arturo A. Bullrich (G3) in succession between late 2024 and early 2025, before losing form. Freshened since late July, she has every chance to return to that level.
Though not quite at her previous peak, Save Your Tears remains a factor every time she appears. The daughter of Full Mast owns plenty of talent and power, and she exits a fourth-place finish behind La Meninha.
The compact lineup is completed by Gran Celestial (Il Mercato), an excellent third in the Cooperativa de Criadores but unable to maintain that form in her subsequent Palermo effort.
