La Meninha (58 1/2 kg.) dominated the Clásico Miss Terrible (1000m, turf) with great authority, sending a message to all her supporters. "The grass is my home," seemed to say the daughter of Le Blues with her remarkable performance, returning to the same surface where she had run spectacularly in December, finishing fourth behind Arellano (Angiolo) in the Gran Premio Félix de Alzaga Unzué (G1), carrying one of the heaviest weights...

After a couple of efforts on Palermo's dirt that left a bittersweet taste, and now more accustomed to the developments on the straight kilometer, the Tres Jotas filly has evolved both physically and in terms of her power, fulfilling the expectations that could be drawn from her early races at La Plata and her return after the long break that interrupted her campaign for more than six months in the middle of last season.

Weighing 472 kg, her heaviest yet, nearly 30 more than when she started racing, La Meninha is not the typical sprinter who bursts out of the gates at full speed; instead, she gets stronger as the meters go by, saving the best for her signature charge, which has always caught attention.

Francisco Leandro focused on keeping her calm and conserving her energy on the challenging northern grass on Saturday, but from the 400-meter mark onwards, he loosened the reins, and La Meninha responded brilliantly, closing in two jumps and taking control before securing the victory.

All the efforts of her rivals to resist proved futile, as the winner was relentless, crossing the line with a 2-length advantage over Durmia (Cityscape, 57 1/2 kg.), with the topweight Forty Vise (Fortify, 59 kg.) in third, and the outsider Fantastic Bomb (Hit It a Bomb, 51 1/2 kg.) making the most of her lighter weight to finish fourth, a half-length behind, all after 1:01.00.

Trained by Ramón Acuña CandiaLa Meninha returned to the turf and impressed, making it clear she’ll be a strong contender in the top races of the division on this surface.
