Part of the juvenile selection process for 2-year-old males, the stakes was slated for Thursday, the 9th, but officials have rescheduled the event for Sunday, the 12th

Once again, a stakes race part of the juvenile selection process at the forest circuit has been canceled. Following the previous cancellation of the Gambier, authorities have now scrapped the Clásico Luis María Doyhenard (G3, 1300m, dirt) and rescheduled it for Sunday, April 12.
Originally, nine juveniles were entered for the contest, but with several races failing to fill from the start, a scheduling break became inevitable.
Fortunately, the Clásico Fortunato Damiani (G3, 1300m, dirt) for 2-year-old fillies and the Clásico Carlos Spegazzini (1600m, dirt) for 3-year-olds and up, weight-for-age, both survived the cut. These will be held on Tuesday, April 7, alongside the Handicap Haras El Paraíso (1100m, dirt) for mares 4-year-olds and up with 3 or more wins.
The undefeated filly Gota Clara Sos (Made You Look)—also entered in the Clásico Eliseo Ramírez (G2) at San Isidro—will face six rivals in the Damiani: Candy Unica (Señor Candy), La Manteca (Equal Talent), Mayan Goddess (Made You Look), Salema (Il Mercato), Achispada (Have At It), and Grosella (Seahenge).
For the Clásico Spegazzini, half of the 12 original entries were declared non-runners, leaving a confirmed field of: Brasilero Francisco (Lizard Island), El Ernesto (Señor Candy), Escape Room (Il Campione), Seek Wave (Seek Again), Storm Sound (Hi Happy), and Vampiro Zen (Zensational).
The Handicap Haras El Paraíso field was reduced to nine contenders, led by Maylena (Qué Vida Buena) carrying the top weight of 60 1/2 kilograms, 2 1/2 kilos more than Gran Celestial (Il Mercato).
With the Doyhenard canceled, the main event for Thursday, the 9th, at La Plata will be the Clásico Federico Plowes (1200m, dirt) for mares 3-year-olds and up, under weight-for-age conditions. While 16 were nominated last Friday, only six remained after the final declarations: Emprestada (Cosmic Trigger), Qué Buena B (Qué Vida Buena), Nashville Blue (Nashville Luckie), Re Guaraní (Grand Reward), Belle Chanson (In the Dark), and Centinela del Mar (Strategos).
