La Punta: Champion Colifato Novo Confirmed for Estrellas Cuyanas

The son of Lenovo will be the main draw during Sunday’s card, which will also feature the Listed Clásico Aniversario

LA PUNTA, San Luis (Special for Turf Diario).- Colifato Novo is officially set to return this Sunday at Hipódromo La Punta, adding plenty of star power to a compelling afternoon of racing that will feature a pair of stakes races at the top of the bill.
The Lenovo colt, crowned Argentina’s Champion 2-Year-Old Male last season after landing the G1 Estrellas Juvenileand the G1 2000 Guineas, is one of 10 confirmed runners for the Clásico Estrellas Cuyanas (1200m, dirt). Sponsored by the Fundación Equina Argentina and open to 3-year-olds and up enrolled in the series, the race will offer a winner’s purse of ARS 5,000,000. It will share the spotlight with the afternoon’s main event, the Clásico Aniversario Hipódromo La Punta (Listed–1600m, dirt), giving the card a double dose of black-type action.
Trained and ridden by Joaquín Cano, Colifato Novo will try to snap a winless streak that dates back nearly a year. He’s been assigned topweight of 63 kilos and will face a competitive group that includes:

The Listed event, open to 4-year-olds and up in the official division, has drawn a full field of 15 after the withdrawal of Colifato Novo. The confirmed lineup includes:
