LA PLATA.- The Tuesday card at La Plata features a compact 10-race program headlined by two stakes events for fillies and mares. The centerpiece is the 2000-meter Clásico Vit Reina, a weight-for-age test that appears to be a prime opportunity for La Watson (Hurricane Cat) to secure her first black-type victory.

Trained by Gustavo Scarpello, La Watson returned from a lengthy layoff to post an impressive three-length conditional win over a mile in her local debut. While stretching out to 10 furlongs for the first time remains the primary question mark, jockey Jorge Peralta will be tasked with rationing her speed against five rivals. Her main opposition includes the consistent La de Trevi (Aspire), winner of four of her last five starts, and Resilincia Holiday (Cosmic Trigger), who exits a sharp runner-up effort at San Isidro.

Earlier on the card, the Especial Haras Vacación serves as an intriguing 1500-meter handicap for mares 4-years-old and up. Puerta Plateada (Puerto Escondido) enters the gate seeking a hat trick following two dominant conditional scores. She faces stiff competition from local specialists Baby Shark (Equal Talent) and After Hours (Qué Vida Buena), both of whom are also riding two-race win streaks. For those looking for value, La Paltrow (Hurricane Cat) carries a featherweight of 52kg and could upset the favorites under Peralta.
