Winning by 3 lengths in the 2,000 meters of the Clásico República Federativa del Brasil, she maintained her undefeated record at the local track

LA PLATA.— Step by step, with firmness, La Watson is establishing herself among the top group of mares competing over staying distances at this city's racecourse. Following her promising victory in the Clásico Vit Reina, the gray has now secured the Clásico República Federativa del Brasil (2000 m, normal dirt).

In the final stage of her 3-year-old season, having overcome a physical issue that sidelined her for a significant period, and guided patiently by her trainer Gustavo Scarpello, the daughter of Hurricane Cat was dominant against the four rivals she faced.

With Jorge Peralta in the irons, the winner progressed steadily while Abrazo Al Cielo (Treasure Beach) attempted to set the pace. At the end of the backstretch, La Watson began to press the leader, overtaking her in the early meters of the straight.

The defender of the Tucumán stable Juanjo drifted inward for a few seconds, which delayed her full dominance. However, from the 250-meter mark to the wire, everything was settled as she drew away easily to finish with a 3-length advantage over Abrazo Al Cielo.

Six lengths further back, Embrace It (Daddy Long Legs) did little to complete the podium, followed by Nevada Top(Puerto Escondido) and Podoroska (Lucullan). The winning time was 2m5s64/100.

Bred by Haras El Mallín, La Watson maintained her undefeated local record after three starts. She is out of Roman Holiday (Roman Ruler), who has already produced another talented stayer in La Plata named Forrest Gump(Hurricane Cat), winner of the Clásico Organización Sudamericana de Fomento del SPC (G3).

Roman Holiday is a maternal sister to G1 winner Tremendo Tordo, another son of Hurricane Cat, and belongs to the historic and extensive family of Margot (Advocate), based at Haras Ojo de Agua. La Watson is solidifying her position in the La Plata staying division, where she has found her place, and her convincing performance suggests she will continue to improve.
