After capturing both the Paseana (G2) and Partícula (G2) over 1800 and 2000 meters, Lacanian Ink, owned by Fragotero, cuts back to the mile in search of further success in the G2 Clásico Omega

With a strong chance that most of the allowance races will be moved to the main track due to persistent rain in the area, San Isidro is gearing up for another Saturday program that features 16 races and is anchored by the G2 Clásico Omega, a one-mile turf test for fillies and mares three and up.

Fresh off back-to-back victories in the G2 Clásico Paseana and G2 Clásico Partícula, run at 1800 and 2000 meters respectively, Lacanian Ink will take a calculated risk by cutting back in distance and returning just two weeks after her latest outing. The daughter of Fragotero will look to take command early, as is her custom, over a surface and distance where several of her main rivals have been specializing.

Among those is the 3-year-old Candlelit (Equal Stripes), a secondary player in this season’s turf classics who recently stepped up to take the G2 Clásico General Las Heras at Palermo with a sharp late rally. Unlike the favorite, she stretches out and will be hoping for an honest enough pace to set up her closing kick.

Fiesta Porteña (Fortify) made a promising graded debut when narrowly missing in that same race, beaten just three-quarters of a length. Her connections know what it takes to win the Omega, having captured it with her paternal sister Nanda Dea.

Luz Delito (Lizard Island) will be looking to rebound from a subpar effort in the G2 Clásico Juan Shaw, where she finished seventh behind Brazilian invader Neowise. Previously, she had taken the G2 Clásico Apertura over 2200 meters. With Francisco Leandro picking up the mount—Gustavo Calvente opting for Lacanian Ink—she remains a player if she returns to her best form.

Champion Craf (Mastercraftsman), who bested Coni Fizz (Marconi) in the Clásico Doria over this course, will try to regain momentum after a couple of defeats.
