The mare from Avourneen, now trained by Jorge Mayansky Neer, prevailed by half a length over the heavy favorite in the classic

Making her return while debuting both a new trainer and jockey, Lancara showed her best side and took a leap in quality over the heavy dirt at Hipódromo Argentino de Palermo, claiming the Clásico Círculo de Propietarios de Caballerizas SPC (G3-1,600 m), the most important race of a Saturday filled with attractions.

Now under the care of Jorge Mayansky Neer, and with the firm hand of Wilson Moreyra as support, the Haras Avourneen homebred became a wall during the final straight to twist the arm of the heavy favorite Blessed Shine(Honour Devil) and defeat her by half a length in 1m39s63/100, a mark that evidenced the difficulty of the track.

From early on at the front, battling with Blessed Shine herself and with Souq (Forge), who also attempted to take the lead at one point, Lancara managed to dominate early upon entering the home straight. From there, she kept her rival at bay, who tried everything to catch her but had to settle for second. Two lengths back, Duffy (Il Mercato) secured a valuable third place.

Lancara is a daughter of one of the best mares that Hortensia Kraupa Tuscany enjoyed at her Rauch stud: Lincay, an Intérprete daughter without a racing career. However, she had already produced the multiple graded stakes winner and stallion Lencelot (Sidney's Candy) and the highly distinguished Logrado, a full brother to Saturday's heroine. Logradowas the winner of the Gran Premio República Argentina (G1) and also shone under the Mayansky Neer-Moreyraduo.

The lower family of Lancara is one of the less prolific branches of Luna Araucana (Selenio), who also stood out with names such as the G1 winners Litigado (Kitwood), Lignify (Confidential Talk), Miss Loren (Numerous), and Lucida Friul (Friul), though through other branches of her pedigree.

For Lancara, it was her fourth and most significant victory out of a total of 15 starts, now surpassing 38 million pesos in earnings and opening a new stage in her campaign in the best possible way. She took the step and arrived; now the time comes to work on staying there.
