Camilo Bautista’s stable acquired Onerepublic and Suigeneris, sons of Ivar and Dr. Post, respectively

Camilo Bautista’s Stud Las Monjitas appears determined to play a stronger hand than ever this sales season. At the conclusion of the Haras La Nora Annual Yearling Sale, the blue-and-orange silks were once again the center of attention, securing the two highest-priced lots of the day—both by highly anticipated first-crop sires: the champion Ivar (Agnes Gold) and the captivating Dr. Post (Quality Road).
Organized by Racehorse and conducted virtually on Monday afternoon, the auction reached its peak with the filly Onerepublic. A striking daughter of Ivar, she commanded a top bid of $79,200 (payable in 12 installments). Born September 3, 2024, the dark bay is the third foal out of the well-bred Cloudbuster (Empire Maker), a full sister to G2-placed Moraz. The pedigree is currently red-hot in the U.S. via Silent Tactic (Tacitus), a winner of the Southwest Stakes (G2) and recent runner-up in the Arkansas Derby (G1), who has officially punched his ticket to the Kentucky Derby (G1).
Las Monjitas also went to $78,000 to secure the second highest-priced yearling, Sui Generis. By Dr. Post, the colt boasts strong international ties; his dam, Lap of Luxury (Galileo), has already produced June Blair (American Pharoah), a four-time winner in Japan and runner-up in the Sprinters Stakes (G1). The family also includes the influential sire Dutch Art (Medicean) and champion Palacegate Episode (Drumalis).
Rounding out the top three was The Machine (Dr. Post—Salty Mo, by Uncle Mo), purchased by Establecimiento Mariana Eva for $50,400. The dam is a half-sister to Salty Strike, the producer of two-time American Champion Female Sprinter Goodnight Olive (Ghostzapper).
In total, 36 yearlings were sold for a gross of $931,200, resulting in an average of $25,867 and a median of $22,800.
