The son of Le Blues, winner of the Chevalier (G2) at two on San Isidro’s turf, will have his opportunity at stud

Studying Lawson’s background reveals the immense racing talent he possessed. However, numbers and statistics could never fully capture the true ability of the son of Le Blues, whose career was plagued by injuries that prevented him from reaching his full potential.
One of the standout two-year-olds of 2022, the bay colt now embarks on his breeding career, entering stud this season at Haras El Entrerriano. He will receive support from his original owners, Haras Santa Rita and Haras Comalal, who plan to send some of their broodmares to him.
Trained by Carlos Cardón, Lawson showed his potential right away, breaking his maiden in a 1200-meter race at Palermo by defeating future champions El Musical (Il Campione) and Subsanador (Fortify) in 1:08.72.
He then switched to the San Isidro turf and stepped up to 1400 meters, confirming his class by crushing the field in the Clásico Raúl y Raúl E. Chevalier (G2), powering away by six lengths over Full Catalán (Full Mast).
Unfortunately, that would be Lawson’s last campaign at full capacity for nine months. Upon returning, he notched another win, finished third to Love the Races (Hurricane Cat) in the Gran Premio Estrellas Mile (G1), was also third in the Clásico Austria (L), and closed out with a fourth in the Gran Premio San Isidro (G1), but he was no longer at his peak.
Lawson, now a new stallion at El Entrerriano, is by the notable Le Blues, a continuation of the Mr. Prospector line through champion Roman Ruler (Fusaichi Pegasus). His dam, La Ñacañina (Alydar's Groom), has been an exceptional producer with 12 winners from 13 runners.
Among her top offspring are Sinalina, winner of the Lotería Nacional (G3) and Paraguay (G3), who later produced the stakes winner El Sinsacate (Il Campione), G1-placed Erase Una Vez (Il Campione), and Campo Verde (Strategos), the recent winner of the Clásico Estrellas Sprint Junior (G3); El Quillay (Il Campione), winner of the Clásico Apertura Estrellas; and Itaperina (Intérprete), dam of stakes winner Best for Last (Incurable Optimist) and the solid performers Angioliona (Angiolo) and Eraria (Il Campione).
