Lebrón Blues, who appeared as the heavy favorite for this Saturday's Clásico Santiago Luro (G2)—part of the upcoming festival at the Hipódromo Argentino de Palermo—died last Tuesday following his final workout. While the news has been confirmed, the exact cause of death remains unverified, though unofficial reports suggest a cardiac arrest.

Owned by Stud El Mencho, the son of Le Blues was coming off a remarkable victory in the Clásico Guillermo Kemmis (G3), also at Palermo, where he won gate-to-wire by nine lengths over Enter the Club (The Great Day). The latter had previously defeated him in the Clásico Congreve (L) on the turf at San Isidro.

Bred by Haras El Paraíso, the sudden and early death of Lebrón Blues leaves the juvenile selection process on the Buenos Aires dirt without its leading figure.
